Milos & Kimolos

Milos is a fabulous Cycladic island, famous for its numerous astonishing beaches, crystal clear waters and unique sceneries it offers to those who love to explore its coastline. Due to its volcanic origin, the land of the island of Venus (where the famous statue was brought back to light in 1820) displays a spectacular chromatic range, thanks to many minerals present in the soil, from the yellow of the sulphur to the red of the iron, from the black of the obsidian to the white of the bentonite.

Adamas is the main port, while Plaka is the capital of the island and features a Venetian castle dating back to the 13th century, located at the top of a hill with a fantastic view over the underlying bay. Kimolos is a small, intimate island just 20 minutes away by boat from Milos, where you are always a guest and never a tourist. Chorio, the only village with permanent inhabitants, welcomes all visitors with its elegance and discreet charm that conquers immediately. A marvellous place of serenity, genuine food and friendly locals.

Beaches
& more

The incredible beauty of the more than 75 beaches of Milos is one of the reasons why this island cannot be forgotten once you have visited it. Although many beaches are easily accessible by car, there are unique spots that can be reached only by boat: this is why a full-day yacht tour is an absolute must.

The northern seashore unfolds gems such as Fyropotamos, Mandrakia, Pollonia and over all the unique Sarakiniko, an incredible white rock formation that reminds the lunar soil.
Fyriplaka and the intimate Tsigrado, Paliochori with its hot water due to the volcanic underground energy, Agia Kiriaki and Provatas are located along the south coast and are mostly not organized, giving a sense of freedom and authentic contact with the Cycladic nature.
Beaches and turquoise waters that you must reach by boat are mainly located on the south-eastern and eastern coasts: the astonishing Kleftiko with its cluster of impressive white volcanic rocks, Gerontas, Sykia with its breath-taking natural cave, and Kalogries.

On Kimolos, you can find peace, relax and fantastic clear waters in small coves like Rema and Karas, at a walking distance from the small port of Psathi.
Among the sandy beaches of the island you can enjoy Prassa and the unorganized Klima, Dekas and Mavrospilia, ideal also for families, while Aliki and Bonatsa are served by small tavernas and bars.

Culture
& Entertainment

The capital town of Milos, Plaka, is located on the top of a hill, surmounted by a small fortification from which you can admire incredible sunsets. Here it is worth a visit to the Sand Museum, where you find a colourful collection of all the different sands that compose the seashore of the island, along with small art pieces.
The Catacombs of Milos, located in the village of Trypiti, are among the most important of the world and a rarity in Greece, where they represent the most important symbol of the early Christianity.

Near Adamas, the small fishing village of Klima surprises with its colourful “syrmata”, the traditional fishermen’s houses with a ground-level garage next to the sea for the boat to be parked in safety.

Trekking the island is a wonderful way to discover especially its north-western part. One interesting path is the one that ends at Cape Vani: along with a secluded beautiful beach you find the old – now abandoned – manganese and barytes mine, standing as a monument to the successful mining activity on the island.

Cultural visit suggestions
the jewel: Ancient Roman Theatre
the historical: Milos Mining Museum
the unexpected: Lakkos Thermal Baths

On Kimolos, the village Chorio, with its shops, small churches and discreet nightlife, amazes for its traditional whitewashed houses and the narrow streets compose an intricate labyrinth, conceived in the past as a defensive element against the invading pirates.
Psathi is the port and hosts some nice tavernas where you can treat yourself with the best Mediterranean fresh fish and the local speciality, a small focaccia called ladenia.

Paros & Antiparos

Paros is the fourth biggest island in the Cyclades archipelago, and together with Antiparos, lying a couple of kilometres south-west, represents a perfect example of the essence of the Cycladic spirit.
On Paros, Parikia and Naoussa are the two main towns, with an elegant yet cosy atmosphere during the summer nights. After a day spent on one of the marvellous beaches of the island, there is no better way to enjoy the fresh breeze and immerse yourself in the movida of Parikia: the port town is home to numerous clubs, cocktail bars and restaurants. If you desire a more sophisticated evening, head to Naoussa and enjoy the excellent jazz music and fine food near the intimate fishing harbour.

In the inland, the village of Lefkes – once the capital of the island – impresses you with its white paved alleys, the amphitheatrically disposition of its houses and the neoclassic buildings. On Antiparos, the lovers of tranquillity will find the perfect balance between relax and entertainment, in a very calm and cool environment. The slow-paced character of the everyday life here entices you: almost inexistent traffic, sweet roads lead you across the well-looked after countryside to numerous, clean beaches. In the evening, as the locals gather outside you stroll the alleys of Antiparos Town, where you can taste fantastic fish dishes sipping on an ouzo.

Beaches
& more

The pristine sandy beaches of Paros and Antiparos surprise for their accessibility and safety, being ideal for families as well as for aquatic sport fans.
Both on Paros and Antiparos the best spots to enjoy the sea and the sun are mainly located on the east coast of the island, where you can practice a variety of water sports including windsurf and kitesurf, thanks to the constant presence of refreshing winds especially during the summer.

On Paros, while Faragas is the top spot along the south coast, one of the most renowned beaches is Golden Beach, in the south-west part of Paros, with its 700 meters of soft sand and inviting clear waters.
Moving towards north, the Pounda, Molos and Abelas overlook the neighbour island of Naxos. Along the north seashore, Kolibithres and Santa Maria are superb choices.

On Antiparos, a myriad of beautiful coves welcome you as you travel along the east coast towards south from the main port of Antiparos Town. Starting from Psaraliki, you can try Panagia, Glyfa, Apantima and the little jewel Sostis. Faneromeni is an astonishing small cove at the very southern point of the island, where you find intimacy and crystal waters that shows all shades of blue.

Culture
& Entertainment

Paros combines a natural beauty and simplicity with an eclectic nightlife: relax, entertainment, fine cuisine and movida are part of the experience on this elegant island. There is though much more than that.
Thanks to its white pure marble, Paros has hosted famous sculptors since antiquity and nowadays you can meet numerous Greek and international artists that live and work on the island. This translates into many laboratories and ateliers where you can observe the work of the masters and even participate to sculpting seminars.

From the church of Profitis Ilias you can enjoy a splendid view over the west coast of Paros, with Antiparos and the two islets of Feira and Diplo next to it.
The Paros Park hosts many cultural events during the summer and it is home to the monastery of Ai Yiannis Detis, interesting walking paths in the natural landscape and a stone amphitheatre.

Cultural visit suggestions:
the jewel: Byzantine church of the Panayia Ekantotapiliani
the natural: Valley of the Butterflies
the historical: Frangokastelo, the castle of Paros

Antiparos offers serenity and magnificent beaches to the sea lovers, as well as an intimate nightlife, but there is more to discover. An example is represented by the small Venetian Castle, located in the centre of the Town, is an autonomous residential unit built around 1440 and reminds of the battles the Antiparians fought against pirates for many centuries. The white alleys with vibrantly colourful fuchsia bougainvilleas invite to walk among the white Cycladic houses and picturesque chapels, forgetting about the everyday struggles.
During the month of July, the Antiparos International Photo Festival is an open-air event that attracts visitors and artists to enjoy the location, the music and the atmosphere while admiring the work of selected photographers from around the world.

Cultural visit suggestions:

the traditional: Folklore Museum of Antiparos

The Riviera of Athens represents the west coast of the Attica region, starting from the port of Piraeus and ending at the enchanting Cape Sounio, home to the iconic Temple of Poseidon. The proximity to the center of Athens and to its International Airport makes it easy to reach and enjoy all year round, considering that the region is the warmest area in continental Europe with a mean annual temperature

of 19.4 °C. Around 70 km long, the Riviera hosts beautiful beaches, as well as marinas, restaurants and clubs, high-end boutiques and shops, parks. In Voula the very organized A’ beach is an excellent choice for families as well, while the B’ beach features dedicated infrastructures for disabled people so they can also enjoy a swim in total safety.

In Vouliagmeni you can access the private Astir beach, next to the magnificent Four Season Astir Palace Hotel: turquoise water and soft sand, along with excellent facilities makes it a most luxurious choice. Next to it, many free beaches suprise you with their cleaniness and beauty.

You can try a delighful surprising bath in Vouliagmeni Lake, located near the seashore: thermal waters welling from undergroud, with a temperature that never goes under 22 °C, will relax and heal you thanks to its minerals and purifying properties.

Travelling further south along the coast, you can stop by Varkiza (great place for the windsurf fans), Agia Marina, Lagonissi, Saronida, Thimari and Legrena: every location gives you a taste of the splendid nature and clear waters you can find in the region.
